Bucharest mayor talks about moving hypermarkets at the outskirts
The Bucharest municipality might enforce a measure aimed at placing new hypermarkets at the outskirts of the city, according to Bucharest mayor Sorin Oprescu, quoted by Romanian media. His declaration came after Romanian media reported increasing price to several food products, and such a move should, at least in theory, lead to Bucharest inhabitants buying more from markets or from neighborhood stores, which would trigger hypermarkets cutting prices.
According to Romania media, the new regulations would only be applied to new hypermarkets.
