Bucharest park hosts big fish festival this week
The National Park in Bucharest will host a large fish festival this week, between April 6 and April 9.
“The Danube shad will be the festival’s surprise and star, a refined and extremely healthy fish that will be present during the entire festival, in all forms: on the grill, on the stove, in brine, smoked, or pickled. Over 10,000 Danube shads will be cooked at the festival,” reads a statement from the organizers, cited by local Agerpres.
The visitors will have the chance to try other kinds of fish as well, including trout, spike, mackerel, and carp. The menus will also include more special dishes such as seafood paella, shrimp skewers, squid, crayfish, shark, and swordfish.
On Saturday, the participants will also cook a 40-kg cozonac (traditional sweet bread Romanians usually cook for Easter or Christmas) and a 25-kg pasca (traditional Easter cake).
The entry at the event is free of charge.
