Bucharest subway operator Metrorex has launched a tender for security services, monitoring, and intervention in subway stations, trains or depots for a period of four years.

The framework agreement has an estimated value of about EUR 34 million, without VAT, and will be financed with European funds, reports local Hotnews.ro.

The contract will be concluded with a single company. Until now, the security services for Metrorex have been provided by an association made from Nei Guard, Grup Est Security, and Nitro Guard Security.

After the framework agreement is concluded, several subsequent contracts will be attributed every month, quarter or year, depending on the ensuing needs. The minimum value of a one-month contract is RON 2.43 million (EUR 534,000).
