Bucharest municipality earmarks EUR 41 mln for hybrid buses

The Bucharest City Hall (PMB) announced on March 13 a public tender for the acquisition of 130 hybrid buses, with the contract value estimated at RON 195.5 million (EUR 41 million ), plus VAT, Economica.net reported.

The municipality aims to buy 130 new, 12-meter (12000 ± 350mm), buses with hybrid engines, with a full-length floor, three doors and air conditioning in the passenger compartment.

The duration of the contract will be 19 months and the deadline for submitting tenders is May 7, 2019. The bidders must meet specific requirements for their bids to be accepted. Namely, their annual average turnover for the last three years (2016, 2017, 2018) must be at least RON 66.19 million (EUR 14.7 million). They also must list the main deliveries made over the last three years, to demonstrate that they have delivered or supplied similar products in an aggregate amount of at least RON 39 million.

The winning company will have to provide service, troubleshooting, assemblies, subassemblies, parts, and materials during the warranty period as specified in the tender book. It will also have to provide training for the employees of the public transport company who will operate the new buses.
