Bucharest’s main railway station provides Wi-Fi access

Bucharest’s main railway station Gara de Nord provides free high-speed Wi-Fi access.

The national railway company CFR introduced this service on Monday, September 11. About 1,000 people are able to access the Wi-Fi simultaneously.

The Wi-Fi network is available at cash desks, waiting rooms and central train platforms. People can connect to the Wi-Fi after logging in, either by introducing their name and email or by logging with their Facebook account. The portal will redirect users to CFR’s website, after which they can open new Internet pages.

The railway operator CFR has previously estimated a profit of RON 400-500 million (EUR 88-109 million) for last year.
