Bucharest's Kiseleff Boulevard becomes sports arena until end August

29 June 2012

Kiseleff Boulevard in Bucharest will be car free and open to sports enthusiasts for the next nine weekends, becoming a most unconventional sports arena between June 29 and August 26, every Friday from 22:00 to Sunday at 13:00.

Basketball, table tennis, tennis leg, badminton and fusbal areas will be available, while cyclists will also have a designated place - 2 lanes just for cyclists, as well as bikes available to rent. At the end of the summer long Via Sport event, all the equipment will be donated to schools in the capital.

The event is now in its third edition and is organized by the Bucharest City Hall and Eventness. In previous years, over 100,000 people took the chance to use the closed road for leisure activities.
