The total investment for revamping and expanding Pipera boulevard in the north part of Bucharest will exceed RON 83 million (some EUR 18.5 million) and work is to be completed by December 2015, according Florentin Pandele, the Voluntari city mayor.

From the total investment, the city’s contribution amounts to RON 7 million (over EUR 1.5 million).

The expanded boulevard will have two lanes, sewage, street lighting and sidewalks.

“After work will be completed, the new boulevard will be a modern and functional road that will effectively serve the needs of local residents. In fact, 29 km of roads were revamped in the Pipera area this year only,” said the mayor, cited by local Agerpres.
