Most companies listed on BVB’s AeRO alternative market failed to deliver on promises
Of the 21 companies listed on the AeRO market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange in 2021, only one third managed to achieve their expected profitability last year, according to an analysis by Bogdan Vasile, Evergent Investments (formerly SIF Moldova) investment analyst.
Of the companies listed on AeRO last year, 52% achieved a net profit in excess of 80% of the target.
Also, one company achieved a net profit twice as high as planned, while four companies (19%) recorded a loss - although all of them expected positive net results for 2021, according to the listing prospectus.
The wave of AeRO listings visible in 2021 included businesses in the fields of IT, agriculture, services, retail, real estate and production and was optimistically supported by investors, who have heavily oversubscribed the issues.
