Calea Victoriei Foundation to hold seminar on lost buildings in Bucharest

25 January 2011

The Imperial Hotel, Bristol Hotel or Metropol Hotel, Brancoveanu Palace, The Grand Theatre, Vacaresti Monastery, Saint Sava Monastery – these are some of the lost places of Bucharest. Discover their story and much more in a seminar on the “City of Lost Places”, held at Calea Victoriei Foundation, on February 3, from 19,00 hours. Entry ticket price is RON 30 for adults and RON 25 for students. To apply for the seminar, go here.

One of the stories you will learn is that of the Grand Theater, which, mid 19th century, used to stand on the same spot where the Novotel hotel currently stands on Victoriei avenue in Bucharest. The hotel's facade reminds of the former theater, which was destroyed during World War II.
