Capannelli, World Bank: Romania needs to invest in education
Romania needs to invest in education as 15%-20% of the population doesn’t have the basic level of education, which is primary school, said Elisabetta Capannelli, World Bank Country Manager for Romania. This happens despite some areas of excellence in education, she added.
She also said that Romania has a budget of over 3% of the Gross Domestic Product GDP for education, while in Sweden the figure is 6.7% of GDP.
“You’ll say that Sweden is Sweden, but in Bulgaria also the percentage is higher,” said Capannelli, cited by local Agerpres.
