Car parts producer Kromberg & Schubert's last year turnover, up 27% in Romania
The Romanian subsidiary of the German automotive group Kromberg & Schubert recorded last year a turnover of EUR 146.8 million, 27 percent higher than the level achieved in 2009. The business growth was driven mainly by the start of production at the company's third factory in Romania, located in Nadab, Arad county. The factory was bought last year from the U.S. investment fund Platinum Equity. Increasing orders along with increasing production of automobiles in Germany, from where most of the final customers of the company come, have also contributed to the growth.
Kromberg & Schubert, electrical wiring and engine maker also owns a factory in Timisoara and one in Medias, Romania, both greenfield investments. The production in Romania is delivered entirely to countries from the European Union. The three production units in Romania employe 5,000 people.
