Carrefour Romania launches catalog with local products in support of Romanian manufacturers
Retailer Carrefour is encouraging clients to consume Romanian products through a newly-launched catalog comprising local products.
Carrefour currently collaborates with 1,500 local suppliers.
“For example, we have developed partnerships with local producers of fruits and vegetables; even if they can’t supply all the units across the country, they supply stores in their region, which means lower costs, higher quality and fresh products,” reads a statement of the company.
Another action taken by the retailer in support of the local economy includes the development of Romanian products made under the Carrefour brand.
Carrefour also forged a partnership with the Romanian Bio Association, through which the consumers have access to the association’s products processed in Romanian villages including fruits, vegetables and herbs grown traditionally.
French Carrefour Group runs 129 stores in Romania, of which, 24 are Carrefour hypermarkets, 69 are supermarkets under the Market brand and 35 are proximity shops Express.
