French retailer Carrefour posted EUR 1.8 billion in sales in Romania last year, up 5.4 percent on 2010, at constant exchange rates. The retailer's fourth quarter sales in 2011 reached EUR 340 million in Romania, a growth of 5.1 percent given constant exchange rates.

In Europe its sales dropped by 2.9 percent, to EUR 26.8 billion. Worldwide sales grew slightly to EUR 91.5 billion – a growth of 0.5 percent year-on-year. Carrefour runs hypermarkets and supermarkets in Romania.
