Carrefour's third quarter sales in Romania, Poland, Turkey, up 4.6% after expansion
French retailer Carrefour saw its sales up worldwide in the third quarter of 2012, while its Romanian market, together with Poland and Turkey were broadly stable, the retailer announced. In the three countries, its Q3 sales were up 4.6 percent including expansion, and at stable exchange rates, reaching EUR 1.16 billion.
The group's third quarter sales were at EUR 22.6 billion, up 2.1 percent on the same period in 2011, while its nine-month sales stood at EUR 66.2 billion, an increase of 1.3 percent on the same period of 2011.
Carrefour's sales in Romania were of EUR 1.18 billion, an increase of 4.8 percent, fueled by the expansion of the stores chain. Carrefour runs 25 hypermarkets in Romania, 59 supermarkets, plus eight Carrefour Express shops under franchise.
