Central Bank ups inflation prognosis by 1.9 percentage points for Romania
Romania's Central Bank upped the inflation prognosis to 5.1 percent, from the previous estimate of 3.2 percent for this year. The new figure is over a percentage point higher than the upper limit of the targeted level. The inflation target for 2013 was also upped to 3.5 percent, from the previous 3 percent target.
The rate thus came outside the variation rate of plus / minus one percentage points, on 3 percent for 2012 and 2.5 percent for 2013.
Inflation accelerated in September, when its annual rate went up to 5.3 percent, from 3.8 percent in August, mainly due to the increase in food prices.
