CEO of Romanian Pro TV: There are no current negotiations for a potential sale
Despite recent rumors, there is ongoing negotiation at the moment for a possible takeover of Romanian TV station Pro TV or other stations in this group, said Aleksandras Cesnavicius, the CEO of Pro TV.
In an interview for local Hotnews.ro, Cesnavicius said that “currently there are no negotiations, with Gazprom or anyone else, for the potential acquisition of Pro TV,” despite recent rumors.
Related to the recent resignations within the company, he said that he appreciates what these people have done for the company, adding that when he came to Romania and saw the group’s organization chart, he realized that “he has to solve the following problem: too many managers and responsibilities not very well defined”.
“All the decisions I took were the result of professional judgment. I don’t deal with a “witch hunt”. Now we have a dynamic management team, well integrated and with clear responsibilities,” he added.
Aleksandras Cesnavicius took over as CEO of Pro TV in late-2013, few months after Romanian Adrian Sarbu, the founder of Pro TV, resigned from the helm of the American media group CME.
CME is a media and entertainment company operating in six Central and Eastern European markets with a total population of some 50 million people. In Romania, the company runs Pro TV, Pro TV International, Acasa, Acasa Gold, Pro Cinema, Sport.ro, MTV Romania, Pro TV Chisinau and Acasa in Moldova.
