CEZ takes EUR 200 mln loan from EIB for Fantanele wind park in Romania
CEZ Group has recently signed for a EUR 200 million loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to co-finance the construction of Fantanele Wind Park project in Romania, with installed capacity of 347.5 MW. The maturity of the loan will be 17 years, according to CEZ.
CEZ’ wind park North of Constanta is being developed in two stages. The first, located in Fantanele, includes 139 wind turbines with a capacity of 347 MW and should be connected by the end of 2010. The second stage, in Cogealac, should be finalized in 2011.
CEZ has already started producing energy in 100 wind turbines which are connected to the grid. CEZ bought the wind park in Dobrogea from Continental Wind Partners in 2008. This will be the largest wind park in Europe, with an expected investment of EUR 1.1 billion.
