Changes to Romania's updated Fiscal Code project
The Government has increased the tax on plots in the updated Fiscal Code draft project, compared to the project published last month.
It increased the value to which the plot’s surface is multiplied in order to establish the amount to be paid, reports local Mediafax.
The new plan also increases the tax on cars. The tax on all means of transport is calculated based on the engine capacity, and the increase applies to all types of vehicles.
The new draft also reduces the VAT to 9% for access to sporting events.
The updated Fiscal Code extends the list of products for which the Government promises to cut the VAT to 9%, by adding dairy products, eggs, and livestock. It initially included bread, meat, fish, vegetables and fruits.
Prime Minister Victor Ponta said on Monday, March 16, that the Government will send the Parliament the new Fiscal Code draft project by March 25. He wants the document to enter the Chamber of Deputies by the end of April.
