Chinese take away Wu Xing continues expansion with Bucharest Old Town restaurant

21 March 2012

Chinese food delivery and restaurant chain Wu Xing will officially open the doors at a new restaurant today, in Bucharest's Old Town, with a EUR 200,000 investment. The new investment is expected to boost the company's daily orders and profits by 10 percent on 2011.

The new opening comes after the food delivery company opened a restaurant in Afi Palace Cotroceni shopping mall in 2010 and another unit in Pipera Business Tower last year, with an investment of around EUR 120,000.

The Old Town restaurant is located on Covaci street, in one of the booming areas of Bucharest, which has seen much development over the last two years. The Wu Xing restaurant in the Old Town will be inaugurated on March 21. It has 45 seats inside and 20 on the terrace.

Wu Xing, with a turnover of around EUR 1 million last year, wants to expand with more restaurants in Bucharest and in other Romanian cities. The company was set up in 1999 by Romanian Sabin Cernea as a family business, dealing with Chinese food delivery only. It currently employs 150 people who serve over 100,000 customers.
