Romanian Senate speaker visits Ukraine
Florin Cîţu, the president of Romania's Senate, visited Ukraine on Wednesday, April 27.
He visited the war-torn Gostomel and Irpin alongside the speaker of the Parliament of Northern Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi, and Irène Kälin, the president of Switzerland’s National Council.
Speakers of parliaments of 🇷🇴 🇲🇰 🇨🇭 have seen Gostomel and Irpin with their own eyes. They have assured that they are ready to join the reconstruction of an independent, sovereign, prosperous 🇺🇦. For that, I am thankful to @XhaferiTalat, @KaelinIrene, @florincitu.

The visit, planned since early April, focused on the atrocities committed by Russia’s military in Ukraine and the country’s post-war reconstruction plan, Cîţu explained.
His visit came one day after the one undertaken by PM Nicolae Ciucă and Chamber of Deputies president Marcel Ciolacu.
Cîţu, who also delivered a speech to the Ukrainian Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, argued that Russia should bear the cost of Ukraine’s reconstruction.
