City of London Lord Mayor: British avoid Romanian infrastructure projects on payment delays
British companies would invest in Romania infrastructure if it were not for the delays in payments, said Nick Anstee, the Lord Mayor of the City of London (in pic) at a conference earlier today in Bucharest. However, Romania should focus on investing in road infrastructure, water supply and hospital projects, some of which could be developed through public – private partnerships. But the country should change its PPP legislation to succeed and attract investors, said Anstee, quoted by Mediafax newswire.
Around 15 percent of total capital investments in the UK are done through public – private partnerships, he also said. Anstee has also encouraged Romanian companies to get listed on the London Stock Exchange, also pledging for higher transparency in the local business environment.
