Cluj airport invests EUR 8.6 mln in modernization work
The airport in Cluj-Napoca, the second largest in the country, has launched a public tender of over EUR 8.6 million, without VAT, to build a platform where the aircraft could park.
The bids will be opened at the end of October, reports local Profit.ro.
The airport currently owns three aircraft parking platforms, as well as one runway for landing and takeoff. The runway is 2,040 meters long and 45 meters wide.
The new parking platform for airplanes would allow the airport to expand. The modernization work needs to be completed in nine months after attributing the contract.
The General Transport Master Plan, which was recently approved by the Government, provides investments of over EUR 131 million in the modernization of the Cluj airport.
