Coca-Cola Romania names new marketing director

Coca-Cola Romania has appointed Miruna Smeureanu as the new marketing director starting this month. She will be responsible for Coca-Cola’s marketing projects in Romania and the Republic of Moldova.

Miruna Smeureanu replaces Nicoleta Eftimiu, who took over as franchise country manager of Coca-Cola in Romania and the Republic of Moldova in January this year, after managing the company’s marketing department for seven years.

Smeureanu has worked at Coca-Cola for 15 years. She’s been working in the communications, public affairs and marketing departments. She graduated from the Academy of Economic Sciences (ASE) in Bucharest. She also has a Master’s Degree in Transport and Finance at City University, in London.

Coca-Cola Romania, the local subsidiary of The Coca-Cola company, owns and promotes the group’s brands in Romania. The company had a turnover of EUR 17.8 million and a net profit of EUR 9.1 million in 2015 and 26 employees, according to official data from the Finance Ministry.

Coca-Cola HBC Romania, which is part of Coca-Cola HBC group – one of the biggest Coca-Cola bottling companies worldwide, handles the production and distribution activities of the group’s brands in the country. Coca-Cola HBC Romania is managed by Estonian Jaak Mikkel. The company had a turnover of EUR 475 million and a net profit of EUR 54.6 million and over 1,500 employees in 2015.
