Chemicals distributor Brenntag Romania won the auction for the charity doubles match in which Romanian tennis players Simona Halep and Ilie Nastase, for EUR 5,000, during the first edition of the Swimmers’ Bal. The firm’s representative only want to watch the game and said the auction is still open for those interested to play against the two tennis stars, according to Camelia Potec, president of Romania’s Swimming Federation.

The first edition of the Swimmers’ Ball, on November 19, raised about EUR 22,000 to help Romanian swimmers prepare for the Olympic Games in Tokyo, in 2020, said Potec, quoted by local newswire Mediafax.

The main event of the ball was the auction for a doubles match against the third best tennis player in the world, Simona Halep, and former Romanian tennis champion Ilie Nastase. Those interested in playing this game can still auction for it, Potec said.
