Construction of Comarnic-Brasov highway in Romania will start this year, says PM
Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta recently said that construction of Comarnic-Brasov highway segment will start this year.
“This year I want to keep my promise to Mircea Cosma (president of Prahova County Council), to people from Prahova county and to all Romanians, this year we start Comarnic-Brasov, the highway that Romania needs. And I think I’ll be here with you when we’ll inaugurate it,” said Ponta, quoted by Wall-street.ro.
Victor Ponta said in January this year that the Comarnic-Brasov highway should be completed by 2017 and the estimated costs will amount to EUR 1.8 billion, or some EUR 28 million per kilometer.
The highway will have a length of 53 kilometers, plus other 7 kilometers of linking roads.
