Continental Brasov appoints new GM
German car parts producer Continental has appointed Joachim Zirbs as general manager of its Continental Brasov plant in Romania, reports local Profit.ro.
Zirbs will replace Rainer Kehnscherper, who was general manager for more than four years.
Joachim Zirbs was previously director of the group’s production unit in Limbach-Oberfrohna, Germany.
Between 2011 and 2015 Continental Brasov reached over 1,400 employees and invested EUR 89 million in the plant, said the new GM. The Brasov plant produces fuel pumps.
The unit works closely with the plants in Dortmund and Bebra. At its maximum capacity, the factory can produce over 10 million units per year.
At group level, Continental saw a turnover of EUR 39.2 billion in 2015.
