Court allows insolvency claim against low cost airline Blue Air

08 October 2010

The Bucharest Court Wednesday allowed insolvency claims against Romanian low-cost airline Blue Air filed by airline Carpatair and Service Excellence Solutions, Court spokeswoman Laura Radu told MEDIAFAX Friday.

Radu declined to reveal the value of the debt owed by Blue Air. Blue Air representative Florentina Ivan said the airline will challenge the court's ruling as it registers no debts to the two companies.

In March, Carpatair filed an insolvency claim with the Bucharest Court against Blue Air for a debt amounting to EUR 30,000. Carpatair vice-president Paula Ardelean told MEDIAFAX that after the airline filed its request, Blue Air paid off its debt, adding it is likely the latter did not address the court to close the insolvency file, as it was supposed to.
