Crowne Plaza hotel in Bucharest appoints Lebanese as new executive chef

Joseph Kalaani has been appointed executive chef of four-star Crowne Plaza hotel in Bucharest owned by Romanian investor George Copos.

Kalaani held the same position at ANA Hotels Europa Eforie Nord for six years and, in parallel, was consultant for ANA Hotels Poiana Brasov, both hotels being also owned by Copos through his company ANA Hotels.

“I am extremely honored with this new professional mission, and I am prepared to offer memorable culinary experiences to Crowne Plaza Bucharest guests,” Kalaani said.

Before coming to Romania, Joseph Kalaani held senior management positions in the kitchens of large hotels and conference centers in Beirut and Dubai, such as Metropolitan Palace Hotel (Beirut), Intercontinental Hotel Phoenicia (Beirut), and Habtoor Grand Hotel Convention Center & Spa (Dubai).

From 2010 to 2012, he also specialized in the training of young chefs at the Cortbawi Institute Adma, coordinated by the prestigious Paul Bocuse Ecully Institute.
