The state-backed program 'Buy Romanian products' ('Cumpara Romaneste') will be shaped in the next two to three months and will receive EUR 1 million in European financing, according to Economy Minister Ion Ariton. The main purpose of the program is to stimulate the sale of domestic products. The program will also includes debates on creating a public policy to stimulate the purchase of more Romanian-made items.

The Rediscover Sinaia Association organizes a week-end trip to Sinaia between October 22 and 24. Attendants will learn how to prepare pickles using a local recipe on Saturday, followed by a festive dinner. Romania’s major union federations are planning a major rally in capital Bucharest on October 27, when the Parliament will debate the opposition’s no-confidence motion that aims to overthrow the Government over its austere measures.

The Senate on Tuesday passed by unanimous vote a Government's draft law concerning some expropriation measures in the case of projects of national, local and county interest, as amended by the Committee on Privatisation and the Judicial Committee.

Romania will export this year over two million tons of wheat and a similar quantity of corn, at prices per ton ranging from EUR 180 to EUR 240, Romanian Agriculture Minister Valeriu Tabara told newswire Mediafax. Data presented by the minister indicate Romania will export corn of over EUR 360 million and wheat of over EUR 420 million.

The Romanian Chamber of Deputies approved the law project which enables the inclusion of bonuses into the base salary for certain categories of state employees. The lack of these bonuses was the main reason which triggered protests at the Finance Ministry last week and the Finance Minister promised protesters they would get the bonuses for the summer.
