Polish private debt investor is looking for new bond issues in Romania
Polish private debt company CVI, one of the largest investors in corporate debt instruments in Central and Eastern Europe, closed two significant transactions in Romania last year and plans to strengthen its local presence.
In July 2017, CVI invested EUR 12 million in a bearer bond issue carried out by Romanian real estate developer Impact. CVI’s second investment was a EUR 20 million bond placement issued by another real estate developer, One United Properties.
In 2018, the Polish company will look for investment opportunities in FMCG, industry and real estate.
“With a decision to continue our engagement in Romania, we want to strengthen our local presence, by increasing our exposure towards Romanian economy and local businesses. We invite enterprises with well-defined strategies, robust investment projects, quality corporate governance, proven results and quality management, to participate in our investment process and thus to contribute to the development of the bonds market in Romania” said Ciprian Nicolae, Principal at CVI.
The Warsaw-based group started its operations in 2011 and has closed over 700 corporate debt transactions worth over EUR 1.6 billion in the CEE region. CVI now has over EUR 1.3 billion assets under management out of which estimated EUR 1 billion is invested in private debt in the region. The company plans to double that amount by 2021.
