Romania hosts regional summit on cyber security this spring
Bucharest will host a regional summit on cyber security between May 11 and May 13 this year.
The summit is organized by the Ministry of Information Security, together with the State Department of Commerce, the US Embassy and 17 other countries in the region.
“There will be many open conferences, participating countries will present their policies in this field and maybe we’ll reach a common policy on cyber security,” said the Romanian Minister for Information Society, Sorin Grindeanu, cited by local Hotnews.ro.
The US State Secretary of Commerce will be present at the summit, and Prime Ministers of other countries in the region are also expected at the event.
On this occasion, the local authorities will also inaugurate a pilot project focused on an innovation center in cyber security, developed in Bucharest with USTDA’s help.
Romania registered over 78 million cyber alerts last year, which affected over 2.4 million unique IPs.
