Hundreds of cyclists dressed in suits to ride their bikes in Bucharest this May

The spring edition of Business on Bike (Business pe Bicicleta) event will take place in Bucharest on May 24 when hundreds of cyclists dressed in suits will ride their bikes on the capital’s main streets.

The cyclists will meet in Tineretului Park at 18:30. An hour later, they will begin their journey on the route Tineretului Park – Dimitrie Cantemir Blvd. – Unirii Blvd. – Libertatii Blvd. – Natiunile Unite Blvd. – B.P. Hasdeu street – Vasile Parvan street – Berzei street – Buzesti street – Victoriei Square – Aviatorilor Blvd. – Charles de Gaulle Square – Arcul de Triumf Square – Tete a Tete terrace in Herastrau Park.

Tete a Tete will also host several events such as speeches, networking sessions, and contests. The event’s special guests are August Ioan – Under Secretary of State in the Sports Ministry and Mihai Baractu – the first Romanian athlete qualified at the Ironman Triathlon.

“More than 3,000 cyclists pedaled with us on Bucharest’s main streets at rush hour since we’ve organized Business on Bike. We’ve managed to donate 15 bikes to a good cause, and we want to continue,” said Cristi Tudorescu, president JCI Bucuresti – the organizer of the event.

Under the slogan Get a Suit & Ride a Bike, the event aims to promote the bicycle as a means of transport to the office and business meetings. More details here (in Romanian).
