Exports drive Romanian Dacia’s business up
Romanian carmaker Dacia last year increased its turnover by about 2% compared to 2013, to EUR 4.24 billion, the company’s general manager Nicolas Maure said in a conference.
“Dacia produced 339,000 cars in 2014. We are working almost at full capacity at Mioveni, which is very well. Mioveni remains an important location for the Dacia brand production,” Nicolas Maure said quoted by Mediafax.
“The turnover increase came from higher sales of components as well as from selling more expensive cars, such as Duster, which compensated for the slight decline in production,” he added.
He also said that 92% of the production in Mioveni goes to export. Dacia stands for 2.8% of Romania’s GDP and 7.3% of the country’s exports, according to the company’s official. The carmaker is part of French group Renault.
