Dacia Duster, among finalists for European Car of the Year award
Dacia Renault's Dacia Duster car model is a finalist in the European Car of the Year award , along with other six car brands: Nissan Leaf, Alfa Romeo Giulietta, Citröen C 3/DS3, Ford C-Max, Opel/Vauxhall Meriva, Volvo S 60/Volvo V 60. Dacia Duster has recorded 80,000 orders across the world so far. It was launched in Romania in March this year. The launch of the new model required EUR 290 million in investments, out of which EUR 70 million went to the Mioveni factory.
Duster, the sixth Dacia model produced by Dacia Renault, has also been nominated for the final stage in the Car of the Year competition in Romania and also on the final list for the Autobest Among Emerging Markets competition.
Last year, the Car of the Year competition in Eurpope was won by Volkswagen Polo. In 2009, Opel/Vauxhall Insignia got the award. This year, 41 car models were on the list of candidates, but only seven were chosen for the finale.
