The 20th edition of the DaKINO International Film Festival, the very first film festival in Romania, will be running from November 22 to 27 in three cinema halls in Bucharest - Patria, Elvira Popescu and the New Cinema of the Romanian Director, within the Museum of the Romanian Peasant , as well as in other alternative venues.

The event will open with the premiere screening of Danny Boyle's movie '127 hours'. Presented at the International Film Festival in Toronto, 127 Hours present the real case of U.S. climber Aron Ralston (James Franco), who got stuck between the rocks of a canyon in Utah and who had to resort to desperate measures to survive (trailer below).

The highlight of the festival will be the Goran Bregovic (in picture) and the Wedding and Funeral Orchestra concert on November 26, at the Palace Hall, from 20,00 hours. Tickets for the concert cost RON 40, 80 and 100 and are available Germanos, Orange, Vodafone and Domo stores, in Humanitas bookstores, online www.eventim.ro and at Sala Palatului.

This year's movie lineup at DaKINO is replaced by a selection of the best short films in 2010, awarded within the most important international film festivals, as follow:

ACADEMY AWARDS 2010:  Best Short film: Logorama (France) – directed by Francois Alaux, Herve de Crecy, Ludovic Houplain; Best Short film Nominee: Kavi (USA) – directed by Gregg Helvey;  Best Short film Nominee: French Roast (France) – directed by Fabrice Joubert

SUNDANCE 2010:  Jury Award for Short Film: Drunk History : Douglas & Lincoln (USA) –directed by Jeremy Konner; Jury Award for International Short Film: The Six Dollar Fifty Man (New Zeeland) – directed by Mark Albiston, Louis Sutherland

CANNES 2010: Golden Palm for short film: Chienne D’Histoire/ Barking Island (France) – directed by Serge Avedikian

VENICE 2010:  Orizzonti Award for Short Film: Coming Attractions (Austria) – directed by Peter Tscherkassky
