Dan Bucsa to be the new chief economist with UniCredit Tiriac Bank in Romania
Dan Bucsa, the former Bancpost chief economist, has moved to UniCredit Tiriac Bank where he will be the chief economist starting June, according to Mediafax newswire. He will replace Rozalia Pal, who recently went on maternity leave.
Dan Bucsa holds a PhD in economics from the Faculty of Finance, Insurance, Banking and Stock Exchange. Since March 2008 he has been chief economist with Bancpost. He belongs to the group of economists who were trained at the Monetary and Macroeconomic Modeling Policy Directorate of the National Bank of Romania, where he served from August 2004, until he left to Bancpost. UniCredit Tiriac Bank posted a net profit of around EUR 40.6 million in 2010, a drop of almost 50 percent from 2009. The bank has 235 units in Romania and 3,000 employees.
