Danish footwear retailer ECCO will be opening two new stores in Bucharest this week, in Bucuresti Mall and Plaza Romania shopping centers. The retailer thus reaches a national network of 18 units and plans two other openings this fall.

The new unit in Bucuresti Mall is to be opened on September 4, followed on September 5 by the new store in Plaza Romania.

“Plans for the next years target the opening of two new stores per year. An investment budget of EUR 300,000 was alloted in 2014 for opening new stores and revamp two others under a new concept,” said Victor Tighinean, managing director ECCO Romania, cited by local Wall-street.ro.

Ecco Shoes Romania registered a turnover of EUR 5.1 million in 2013, up 8.5% year-on-year, and a net profit of EUR 34,000, down 45%.
