Developers search land in Romania for residential, mixed projects

17 February 2017

Developers will continue to be attracted by Romania’s residential and retail sectors this year, and their interest will be mainly focused on developing residential and mixed projects, which can provide a complete ecosystem, according to real estate consultancy Colliers International.

The residential sector has been going through an extensive development since 2015.

The main attractions will be the residential projects built near office areas, as well as mixed projects (residential and office, residential and retail, or all the three functions), said Sinziana Oprea, ‎Associate Director at Land Division at Colliers International.

The construction of the M6 metro line connecting Bucharest’s main railway station to the Otopeni airport has also stirred interest, and a new important office pole could emerge in the Piata Presei area. Investors are thus interested in acquisitions in the area and adjacent areas.
