Diamond Jubilee celebrations ended, Prince Charles comes to Romania for new private visit
Soon after the Diamond Jubilee celebrations ended in London, Prince Charles of Wales, the heir of the British crown, came on yet another private trip to Romania. He stays in Transylvania, in Miclosoara, one of his regular areas, where he is hosted by count Kalnoky Tibor. He landed on a charter flight on the Targu Mures airport on Wednesday (June 6 ).
Prince Charles owns several properties in Romania, at Valea Zalanului in Covasna county and at Viscri. Romania has become a favourite for Prince Charles, who came on numerous occasions to the country and visited many Transylvania villages. “What always amazed me is this unique relationship between man and nature. This is what missing in our society. People ache for a certain feeling of belonging, of identity and significations,” said Prince Charles, quoted in the British media.
Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles' mother, became only the second English monarch to reach a diamond jubilee for sixty years on the throne after her great great grandmother Queen Victoria, who reigned for almost 64 years. On February 6, 1952, the Queen’s father, King George VI died and the then Princess Elizabeth became Queen at the age of 25. Celebration lasted until last week-end, which was the highlight of the whole jubilee.
