The revamped building of the National Theater in Bucharest will be ready mid-November. The building will host 4,500 sqm of art galleries, cafeterias, a large bookshop, and small halls for events, besides the main stages.

“The building will be open all day, and tours of the whole place, from the basement to the roof, will be organized,” said actor Ion Caramitru, the director of the National Theater.

The revamping process was delayed by the late moving of the Operetta, and of the National Museum of Contemporary Arts, which were both hosted in the Theater building, and which prevented the constructors from starting revamping work.
