DreamHack brings 10,000 tech fans to Bucharest

The third edition of DreamHack Bucharest, one of the world's most important electronic gaming competitions, drew thousands to Romania’s capital on the weekend.

Visitors came from Russia, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden and Bulgaria, among other countries, to attend the tech event.

Dedicated to games, high-speed Internet, eSports, international tournaments, communication, digital culture and entertainment, the festival also saw more than 200 professional gamers compete for prizes, together worth EUR 50,000.

With 7,000 tickets sold online by Saturday (September 14), the organizers’ aimed to attract 10,000 people to this year’s edition of the festival, according to Silviu Stroe, CEO of computergames.ro, one of the organizers.

Some 8,000 people visited DreamHack Bucharest in the first day (September 14) and another 4,000 to 5,000 people were expected in the second day of the event (September 15).
