Dubai opens tourism office in Bucharest
Dubai Corporation for Tourism & Commerce Marketing (DCTCM) will open a tourism office in Romania after noticing that the Romanians’ interest in holidays in Dubai has increased, reports local Wall-street.ro.
Bucharest thus joins the cities of Prague and Warsaw, and becomes the third city in the region where DCTCM has an office.
Some 46,700 Romanians visited the emirate last year. The number will increase by 20% in 2017, according to estimates.
Dubai annually attracts 16 million visitors from around the world. The emirate wants to become a top 3 destination for many of the Romanians.
“Unfortunately, most Romanians believe Dubai is mainly a luxury destination, which targets people with high income. We hope to change this perception and to present Dubai as a destination for everyone, from budget to top luxury,” said Dana Nabeel Abdulla Kambe, DCTCM strategic alliances manager.
