Dutch airline to enter Romania with four flights
Dutch company Join! Airlines will enter the Romanian market with four flights from Arad, west of Romania.
Join!, which promotes itself as a regional airline, will fly from Arad to Verona in Italy and Stuttgart in Germany, as well as to Bucharest, thus becoming the fourth airline to announce domestic flights, after Blue Air, Ryanair and Wizz Air.
Join! Airlines plans to expand its activity to the airports in Suceava and Tulcea, reports local Mediafax.
The Dutch group considers that the aviation in the Balkans, including Romania, has entered a growth trend.
Arad is located about 50 km away from Timisoara, which is the biggest city in the west of Romania, which also has the country’s third biggest airport.
“We are aware that the Timisoara airport represents competition, but we will respond with creativity, and we’ll search new routes,” said Bernard Jacobs, president of Join! Airlines.
The Arad airport has been undergoing a revamping program which should be finalized at the end of March.
