E.ON Distributie Romania changes name to Delgaz Grid
E.ON Distributie Romania, the first integrated distributor of natural gas and electricity in the local market, has changed its name to Delgaz Grid, starting January 1 this year, following a rebranding process.
Delgaz Grid operates a gas distribution network of over 21,600 kilometers, and an electricity distribution network of over 81,000 kilometers. Its networks serve around 3.1 million customers, covering the counties in the northern half of Romania, such as Cluj, Maramures, Timis, Bihor, and Sibiu.
The electricity distribution operations are concentrated in the Moldova region, which includes Iasi and Bacau counties, among others.
German group E.ON entered the local market in 2005 and has invested over EUR 1.4 billion to develop its local business so far, according to its own statements.
E.ON Distributie had a turnover of EUR 362 million and a net profit of EUR 58.6 million in 2015. The gas and electricity supplier E.ON Energie recorded sales of EUR 1.09 billion and a net profit of EUR 25.2 million.
