EC President appoints Romanian as special advisor on food security
European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker appointed Romanian Dacian Ciolos as his special advisor on international food security.
Ciolos will work with various members of the European Commission on EU’s contribution to solving this global challenge, according to a EC press release. Ciolos won’t receive any money for his activity.
“Dacian Ciolos has extensive experience in the food security area and I think he is the right person to advise me on this important topic," said President Juncker.
Ciolos served as European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development between 2010 and 2014. During his mandate, he coordinated EU’s Common Agriculture Policy reform for 2014-2020, reads the EC press release.
