eJobs: Romania's labour market exceeds pre-crisis level
Romania’s labor market saw accelerated increases last year, according to a report published yesterday by eJobs Group, the company that owns the online recruitment platform eJobs.
The number of open positions advertised on the online recruitment platforms increased by 70% last year compared to 2015. The economy added over 170,000 employees in 2016. Romania thus managed to exceed the number of employees recorded at the end of 2008, according to the eJobs Review & Trends report.
The labor market has recovered the declined suffered during the economic crisis. The same positive trend will continue this year, considering a GDP growth estimated at around 4%, said Andrei Frunza, general director of eJobs Group.
The net average salary in the economy amounted to over RON 2,060 (EUR 457) at the end of 2016, up 13% over the same period in 2015. The salary expectations of Romanians pointed to a minimum net wage of RON 2,311 (EUR 513) in the case of women. Men are likely to earn minimum RON 2,880 (EUR 640).
