Full passes for Romania’s Electric Castle festival, already sold out
All the 20,000 general or full access passes put up for sale for this year’s edition of Electric Castle festival in central Romania are already sold out, more than one month before the event.
Electric Castle is one of the largest music festivals in Romania. The 2017 edition will take place between July 12 and July 16 at the Banffy Castle in Bontida, in Cluj county.
Those who want to see international artists such as deadmau5, Franz Ferdinand, UNKLE, House of Pain, Moderat, or Trentemoller performing live at the Romanian festival can still buy one-day tickets or premium passes.
However, some of the fans who haven’t managed to buy a general access pass so far can still get one for free, reports local Mediafax.
“For the third consecutive year, Electric Castle promotes cycling as alternative transportation and encourages its fans to use this means of transport. Cyclists who accept the challenge to ride their bikes to the festival from at least 250 km away and who, in turn, support an ecological cause can become Eco Ambassadors of the fifth edition of the festival, which is also the most ambitious in terms of reducing the impact on the environment. The Eco Ambassadors will receive free entry and camping,” according to a press release from the event’s organizers.
Electric Castle 2017 is set to be the most spectacular edition so far, and the organizers expect more than 130,000 spectators. In 2016, the festival brought more than 120,000 people to the Banffy Castle in Cluj county. Over 200 artists and bands from Romania and abroad performed on the festival’s eight stages.
