Sergiu Chirca has been appointed new CEO of the local online retailer elefant.ro, replacing Dan Vidrascu, who was in this office in the last four years.

Sergiu Chirca is also the managing partner of Fribourg Capital, the majority shareholder in Elefant Online.

Elefant.ro is the second-biggest online store in Romania based on the number of transactions. The company’s next development stage will be coordinated by Sergiu Chirca, said Ion Sturza, president of the board of directors. Sergiu Chirca has been a member of the board of directors since 2011.

Dan Vidrascu, the former CEO, will remain member in the company’s board.

Elefant.ro currently has over 1.5 million customers. Founded in 2010, the company has expanded abroad, opening a subsidiary in Chisinau, in the Republic of Moldova.
