Romanian online retailer eMag.ro has started selling the Kindle e-reader, which is available for prices between RON 699 and RON 949 (EUR 162 and EUR 220). the Kindle e-reader has been available to Romanian buyers directly from Amazon, for prices between USD 139 and USD 189, plus the transport fees to Romania.

The Amazon Kindle is a portable e-book reader developed by Amazon.com subsidiary Lab126. Amazon released the Kindle First Generation in 2007, for USD 399. The second generation of Kindle was launched in 2009. The latest generation of the Kindle was launched last year. It is 0.5 inches shorter and 0.5 inches narrower than the Kindle 2 and it supports additional fonts and international Unicode characters. An experimental browser based on the popular WebKit rendering engine is included, as well as text-to-speech menu navigation. Internal memory is expanded to 4 GB.
