American group Emerson plans to hire 500 people for its factories in Cluj – Napoca and Oradea, in Romania this year. The company will start working on its Oradea factory in April this year, according to Ziarul Financiar. In fall last year, Emerson announced its plans to invest some EUR 50 million in a new production and support facility in Romania, at Oradea. Back then, the company was estimating it would add some 1,500 jobs in Romania in the coming years.

The company is also currently expanding its production capacities in Cluj, via a EUR 15 million investments. Work on a new production hall and office area is due to end sometime in October this year.

US manufacturing and technology firm Emerson Electric has a global presence and supplies a range of products and services to the industrial, commercial and consumer markets. The company has a history dating back well over a hundred years and has continuously diversified its business, from engineering to electrical equipment and later electronic goods and network infrastructure. Currently, Emerson has approximately 133,000 employees and 235 manufacturing locations worldwide. In Romania, Emerson had a turnover of some EUR 50 million in 2011, and a net profit of around EUR 6.7 million.
